Can You Use Grab for Flights?Yes, Grab Works on Any Airline on Laters.com

Yes. Book on Laters.com and Grab works across all 600+ airlines, every route, and every fare class at checkout, as an official partner payment method. Compare prices from multiple providers in one search, and your e-ticket arrives once payment is approved. There are no hidden booking fees, though Grab is a credit product and some of its plans carry interest or processing fees, so read the plan details before you choose one.

Plenty of major carriers don't offer Grab directly at their own checkout. Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, AirAsia, Cathay Pacific, and Emirates aren't set up to split fares through Grab if you book straight through the airline. Book through Laters.com instead, and Grab becomes a payment option regardless of which of these airlines you fly, because the split happens at our checkout, not theirs.

Grab's PayLater Postpaid and Pay in 4 plans are interest-free, while the longer Pay in 8 and Pay in 12 options carry a processing fee per instalment, and all plans are available across the markets we support in Southeast Asia. Every plan is subject to approval, a credit check applies, and you need to be 18 or over to use Grab for flights. Miss a payment and a late or admin fee may apply, so treat it like any other credit commitment.

    Grab Flight Booking: Available Countries

Grab's pay-later plans are built around its home ground of Southeast Asia, where the app already handles rides, deliveries, and now flight fares. Coverage centres on Malaysia and Singapore, the two markets with published plans and settlement in local currency. Availability, plan mix, and eligibility can vary by market, so confirm what's on offer at checkout before you commit to a schedule. 2 markets offer interest-free instalments. 2 markets offer a 30-day deferral.

Grab calls its short-term option PayLater Postpaid in both Malaysia and Singapore, and pairs it with longer Pay in 4, 8, and 12 instalment plans. Some of those longer plans carry a processing fee per instalment rather than being entirely interest-free. Limits, fees, and rates differ by country and are shown by Grab at checkout, so check the details there before booking.

Illustrative only. The figures above are computed from the fare you set: plain division for the interest-free plans, and the plan's own illustrative rate over its stated term for monthly financing. They are not an offer, a quote, or a prediction of what you will be given. Laters.com is not the lender and takes no part in the decision: which plans appear, the instalment amounts, any interest and fees, and whether you are eligible at all are determined by the provider alone, and depend on a credit or eligibility assessment, your country and your basket. The only way to see your real plans is to choose this payment method at checkout, at which point the provider, not Laters.com, approves or declines the purchase. All plans, rates, fees and terms are estimates only and subject to approval and to change.

Grab treats travel like any other tap-to-pay errand: defer the fare to next month's bill with PayLater Postpaid, or split it across 4, 8 or 12 months. Short plans stay interest-free; the longer ones add a 1.5% processing fee per instalment. It's a credit product built into an app millions already use for rides and food, which makes it convenient but also easy to underestimate.

    What works well

    • Four plan lengths, from one month to twelve
    • Pay in 4 stays interest-free with no fee
    • Already embedded in the Grab super-app
    • Usable at partner merchants in Singapore, not just Grab

    What to watch

    • 8- and 12-month plans carry a 1.5% per-instalment fee
    • Missed payments trigger admin fees, not just interest
    • Only confirmed live in Malaysia and Singapore
    • Approval and credit checks aren't detailed by Grab

4 measures, scored the same way for every provider at our checkout.

    Repayment Flexibility9/10

Four distinct shapes: a single deferred bill, and 4, 8 or 12-month instalments. That spread across one to twelve months gives real choice, though the two longest plans share the same 1.5% fee structure.

    Interest Rate8/10

PayLater Postpaid and Pay in 4 carry 0% APR with no fee when paid on time. The 8- and 12-month plans are also 0% APR but add a 1.5% processing fee per instalment, so the headline rate isn't the full cost.

    Eligibility7/10

Confirmed regulatory detail covers only Malaysia and Singapore of Grab's eight-market footprint, though all four plans are available in both. That leaves six listed countries without verified plan terms for this score.

    Approval Process7/10

Grab's own terms disclose late fees and tenor options but, per our review, fail to clearly state credit limits or the credit check process, so the floor applies here pending clearer disclosure.

A flat RM10 charge reactivates a suspended Malaysia account; Singapore applies a S$15 admin fee on missed payments from 1 April.
    Longer plan processing fee
The 8- and 12-month plans carry a 1.5% processing fee per instalment even though the headline rate is 0% APR.
    Currency handling

    Credit file impact
Grab has not published details on credit checks or reporting for these plans, so confirm directly with Grab before relying on it.

Treat the worked example as an illustration, not a quote. What you're actually offered depends on your market and on approval, and every provider we score is run through the same rows so the numbers stay comparable.

Split a fare on the routes people actually fly

    Popular Grab Flight Routes

Grab splits the fare on any route Grab sells, from a short hop between regional hubs to a long-haul crossing continents, and the larger the fare, the more a plan changes what you pay today versus what you owe on a schedule. This is credit either way, so a plan is worth choosing on its own terms, not just its route.

FAQs: Using Grab to Book Flights

Everything you need to know about paying for flights with Grab on Laters.com.

01Can I book flights with Grab as a booking eligibility check, or does everyone qualify?

Booking flights with Grab depends on approval at checkout rather than automatic eligibility for every traveller. Grab reviews each application against its own criteria, and approval is never guaranteed. On Laters, you can compare flights from 600 or more airlines and select Grab's PayLater options at checkout if you're eligible. For the exact eligibility requirements, check Grab's own website before you book.

02How soon do I get my e-ticket when paying with Grab?

Your e-ticket is delivered once your Grab payment plan is approved, not before. Laters processes the booking with the airline as soon as approval comes through, so the ticket lands in your account shortly after that step clears. Approval timing can vary depending on which Grab plan you choose and your account status. If approval is delayed or declined, no ticket is issued and no fare is charged.

03Is there a credit check when using Grab for flights?

Yes, Grab runs a check on your account and payment history before approving a PayLater Postpaid bill or an Instalment plan. This applies whether you're deferring the fare to next month or splitting it into 4, 8, or 12 monthly payments. Missed payments can lead to account suspension and additional charges, and repeated missed payments may affect your ability to use Grab's credit products going forward. Always review Grab's current terms on its website before relying on approval.

04What happens if I miss a Grab payment on my flight booking?

Missing a payment carries real consequences, not just a reminder email. In Malaysia, a missed PayLater Postpaid payment can suspend your account, and a flat RM10 late charge applies to reactivate it. In Singapore, a missed payment triggers a S$15 admin fee from 1 April. Late or missed payments can also affect your standing with Grab and your ability to use PayLater again, so pay on schedule where possible.

05Which Grab plan works best for an expensive flight fare?

For a pricier fare, Grab's Pay in 8 or Pay in 12 plans spread the cost over 8 or 12 monthly instalments rather than one lump sum or four payments. Both are interest-free, but each instalment carries a 1.5% processing fee, so the total cost is higher than paying on time with Pay in 4 or PayLater Postpaid. Weigh the processing fee against your monthly budget before choosing the longer term. Check Grab's website for current fee details.

06Is Grab PayLater available for flights in my country?

Grab's PayLater plans for flights are confirmed available in Malaysia and Singapore, where PayLater Postpaid and Pay in 4, 8, and 12 instalment options can all be used. Grab operates more broadly across Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar, but confirmed PayLater plan details for flight bookings are specific to Malaysia and Singapore. Confirm current country coverage on Grab's website before booking. Laters displays Grab as a payment option at checkout only where it's supported.

07Can I use Grab PayLater to book premium-cabin or business-class flights?

Grab's PayLater plans apply at checkout based on the fare total rather than the cabin class itself, so premium-cabin and business-class fares can generally use the same Pay in 4, Pay in 8, Pay in 12, or PayLater Postpaid options as economy fares. Approval still depends on Grab's own review of your account, and a higher fare simply means larger instalments or a bigger single bill next month. There's no separate premium-cabin plan noted by Grab. Confirm any cabin-specific restrictions directly on Grab's website.

08How do refunds and cancellations work when I've paid for a flight with Grab?

Refunds on a Grab-financed flight follow the airline's own fare rules first, since Laters processes the ticket through the airline you booked with. If a refund is approved, it's returned against the Grab plan you used, which can adjust or cancel remaining instalments depending on how much of the plan you've already paid. Processing fees already charged on Pay in 8 or Pay in 12 plans may not always be refundable. Check both the airline's fare conditions and Grab's refund policy for specifics.

09Does using Grab PayLater for flights affect my credit score?

Grab's PayLater Postpaid and Instalment plans are tied to your Grab account standing rather than being marketed as a traditional credit-bureau product, but missed payments still carry consequences. A missed payment can suspend your Grab account and trigger a reactivation charge (RM10 in Malaysia) or an admin fee (S$15 in Singapore), and repeated issues can limit your future access to PayLater. Whether Grab reports to credit bureaus in your market isn't detailed here, so check Grab's website for that specific question. Paying on schedule is the simplest way to protect your standing either way.

10Is Grab's pay-in-30 style PayLater Postpaid plan really free?

PayLater Postpaid defers your flight purchase to a single bill next month with no interest charged, so paying on time genuinely costs nothing extra. It only stops being free if you miss the payment: Malaysia applies a flat RM10 charge to reactivate a suspended account, and Singapore applies a S$15 admin fee on missed payments from 1 April. So the plan is free by design but not risk-free if a payment is missed. Treat it as a deferred bill, not free money.

11Do I earn airline miles when I book a flight through Laters and pay with Grab?

Airline miles are earned according to the airline's own frequent flyer program, based on the ticket and fare booked, not on how you choose to pay for it. Booking through Laters and paying with Grab's PayLater plans doesn't change your eligibility to earn or redeem miles with the airline. Check the specific fare's mileage-earning conditions with the airline directly. Grab's PayLater plans don't add their own separate rewards program on top.

12Is my payment and personal data secure when I use Grab PayLater on Laters?

Grab handles the PayLater application and payment process directly through its own secure systems, separate from the airline booking flow on Laters. Laters compares prices from multiple providers and passes you to Grab's checkout for the credit application itself, so your financial details are managed under Grab's own data-handling terms. For specifics on how Grab stores and protects your data, review Grab's privacy policy on its website. General good practice still applies: only enter payment details on Grab's official checkout screens.

13Do sale or discounted flight fares still work with Grab PayLater?

Sale and discounted fares can still be booked using Grab's PayLater plans, since Laters lets you compare prices from multiple providers and Grab's checkout option applies to the fare total at the time of booking, whatever that total is. There's no minimum or maximum basket size specified by Grab for flight purchases, so a discounted fare is treated the same way as full-price. Approval still depends on Grab's own review each time. Confirm any fare-specific restrictions with the airline as well.

14Can I use Grab PayLater to book a flight without an existing Grab account?

You generally need an existing Grab account to apply for PayLater Postpaid or one of the Instalment plans, since approval is tied to your account history and standing with Grab. If you don't already use Grab, you'd need to set up an account and go through its own application process before selecting it at Laters checkout. Approval isn't guaranteed even with an established account. Check Grab's website for the specific account and application requirements in your country.

15How do I track my Grab PayLater instalment payments after booking a flight?

Grab PayLater payments, whether a single PayLater Postpaid bill or ongoing Pay in 4, Pay in 8, or Pay in 12 instalments, are tracked through your Grab account rather than through Laters, since Laters' role ends once your ticket is booked. Check your Grab app or account dashboard for your payment schedule, due dates, and any fees applied. Staying on top of due dates matters, since missed payments can trigger account suspension or additional charges depending on your country. Grab's website has more detail on how payment tracking works in its app.

16Can I change or cancel a flight booking made with Grab PayLater?

Changing or cancelling a flight booked with Grab PayLater starts with the airline's own change and cancellation rules, since that's what governs the ticket itself. Any refund or credit from the airline is then applied against your remaining Grab PayLater balance, which may reduce or cancel outstanding instalments depending on timing. Fees already paid, such as the processing fee on Pay in 8 or Pay in 12 plans, may not be refunded even if the flight itself is changed. Contact Grab directly for how a specific cancellation affects your payment plan.

Grab started out as a ride-hailing app in Malaysia and grew into one of Southeast Asia's biggest super-apps, covering rides, food delivery, and financial services across the region. Its PayLater tools grew out of that everyday use, letting people who already order food or book rides through Grab spread the cost of bigger purchases, including flights booked through Laters.com. The app is widely used across Malaysia and Singapore, and Grab reports its reach across several other Southeast Asian markets, though the exact scale shifts as it expands, so treat any figure you see as a snapshot rather than a fixed number. We work with every airline we sell on Laters.com, so a Grab plan is available whatever route or carrier you pick. Grab is a public company with financial products that sit alongside its transport and delivery business, not a standalone lender, which is worth knowing if you're comparing it to other BNPL providers. For the current terms on any plan, check Grab's own site directly. Whichever plan you choose, only commit to instalments you're confident you can repay on the agreed schedule.

    Booking with Grab on Laters.com

Search and pick your flight on Laters.com as usual, then choose Grab at checkout alongside the other payment options. You'll see the plans it offers, such as PayLater Postpaid for deferring the full amount to next month, or Pay in 4, Pay in 8, and Pay in 12 for splitting the fare into monthly instalments, some of which carry a processing fee and all of which involve a credit assessment through Grab. Once Grab approves the plan, your e-ticket is issued, so there's no waiting around once that approval comes through. Laters.com adds no payment surcharge and no booking fee on top of the fare, and your instalments are collected by Grab directly, not by us, on the schedule you agreed to at checkout.

Laters.com earns from the fare as the merchant, the same whichever payment method you choose; no payment provider pays for placement on this page.

    Grab is a credit product

Borrowing responsibly means only committing to instalments you can genuinely afford. Missed payments can result in late fees, may be reported to credit reference agencies, and may affect your credit standing and your ability to borrow in future. Laters.com is the new name for Fly Fairly; nothing about your booking or support changes. Last reviewed by the Laters.com editorial team in August 2026.
