Garuda Indonesia sells First, Business and Economy cabins. Seat pitch and width are not confirmed for any of them, so this page quotes none. The exception is London: Economy Comfort (S) and Economy Premium (W) fares carry their own baggage allowance there, separate from standard Economy. Check the fare letter on your booking confirmation before you pack, because the cabin name alone does not tell you the allowance.
International checked allowance is 30 kg in Economy, 40 kg in Business and 50 kg in First. Domestic flights allow less. Carry-on is one piece, up to 7 kg and 56 x 36 x 23 cm. US routes count pieces instead: two bags, 23 kg each in Economy and 32 kg each in Business, USD 150 per extra piece. Garuda's hub is Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta (CGK). Skytrax reported in 2018 that the airline moved to Terminal 3 there in 2017. No minimum connection time is confirmed for CGK, so this page cannot call a short layover safe. Book connections on one ticket, check the terminal and times on your booking confirmation, and leave a margin you are comfortable with.
Pets cannot travel in the cabin. Domestic pets go in the hold only, on direct flights of 2 hours or less, and not to or from Denpasar. International flights take no mammals except service animals. Garuda Indonesia allows 1 cabin bag of up to 7 kg, measuring no more than 56 x 36 x 23 cm. On CRJ and ATR aircraft in Economy the limit is smaller: 41 x 34 x 17 cm, still 7 kg. A laptop bag or handbag, coat, umbrella and small camera are carried free on top.
International free allowances are 50 kg in First, 40 kg in Business and 30 kg in Economy, and no single bag may exceed 32 kg. Flights to and from Japan allow 64 kg in First and Business and 46 kg in Economy, with a 32 kg limit per bag. Paying in instalments does not change these allowances.
Domestic free allowances for adults are 40 kg in First, 30 kg in Business and 20 kg in Economy, on top of the 7 kg cabin bag every fare carries. An infant without a seat gets 10 kg in Business or Economy and 20 kg in First, plus one stroller, carrycot or car seat. Party travellers on one booking can pool their allowances.
Excess baggage on the weight concept is USD 8 per kg from Indonesia to Southeast Asia (Band 1) and USD 23 per kg to Europe, Africa and Turkey (Band 4), with Garuda Indonesia as first carrier. On US routes, which use a piece concept, excess is USD 150 per piece. Add this to your budget before choosing an instalment plan, because baggage fees are usually paid separately from the fare.
US routes use the piece concept: 2 pieces, with Economy limited to 23 kg each and Business to 32 kg each. Each bag can measure up to 158 cm in total dimensions. Garuda Indonesia charges USD 150 for each extra piece.
Check-in cut-off times for online, app and counter haven't been confirmed, so check them with Garuda Indonesia before you travel. Online check-in is offered from the booking widget on the airline's homepage. Owners taking a pet on a domestic flight must be at the check-in counter at least 1 hour before departure.

Garuda Indonesia calls itself The Airline of Indonesia and flies as a full-service carrier with First, Business and Economy cabins. Skytrax rates it four stars. That was cut from five, with Skytrax citing a dated onboard product and ground facilities in Jakarta and Denpasar, while saying staff service remains good. Skytrax also named it a Certified 5-Star Airline in 2018.
The hub is Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) in Jakarta. As the first Indonesian airline in SkyTeam, Garuda lets members earn and redeem miles on partner-operated flights too. GarudaMiles is its own loyalty programme. Tier names and what the top tier takes to reach are not confirmed here, so check with the airline.

The baggage allowance is the one your fare carries, and the GarudaMiles earning is the one your fare class earns.
