InterCaribbean Airways pay later

Can You Pay Later on InterCaribbean Airways?

Yes, on Every Route They Fly, on Laters.com

Yes. You can book InterCaribbean Airways on Laters.com and pay later, on every route the airline flies and in every fare class. You choose the pay-later plan inside the checkout, and the e-ticket arrives straight away once your payment is approved. Providers and plans are shown at checkout.

Paying later is a payment method at the Laters.com checkout, not something InterCaribbean Airways has to switch on, so it works on every route we ticket. Search the route, choose a provider, pick a plan, and the e-ticket arrives once payment is approved. Your country of booking sets which plans you see, not the airline you fly, and checkout shows only plans your fare qualifies for, so there is nothing to work out in advance.

An instalment plan leaves the fare, the baggage allowance, the seat and what your fare class earns in Cacique Rewards untouched. You fly on InterCaribbean Airways's own fare rules, and only the paying is spread. Interest-free plans run a soft eligibility check that does not affect your credit score. Interest-bearing monthly financing runs a full credit check. Approval is never guaranteed on either. To skip a plan, pay in full by card or crypto at the same checkout.

This is a calculator, not a brochure. Set an InterCaribbean Airways fare and every plan shape below prices itself against that number. Which shapes you are offered depends on the provider and your market. The interest-bearing shape needs a full credit check, and paying later is credit, so read the terms before you book.

InterCaribbean Airways is paid in full at booking, you repay the provider on your chosen plan, and the e-ticket is issued straight away. The same short instalment shape trades under different names by provider and market, so the plan you are offered may not carry the name used here.

Illustrative only. The figures above are computed from the fare you set: plain division for the interest-free plans, and each plan's own illustrative rate over its stated term for monthly financing. They are not an offer, a quote, or a prediction of what you will be given. Laters.com is not the lender and takes no part in the decision: which plans appear, the instalment amounts, any interest and fees, and whether you are eligible at all are determined by the provider alone, and depend on a credit or eligibility assessment, your country and your basket. The only way to see your real plans is to choose a provider at checkout, at which point that provider, not Laters.com, approves or declines the purchase. All plans, rates, fees and terms are estimates only and subject to approval and to change.

Laters.com vs booking direct

Why buy InterCaribbean Airways flights with Laters.com?

Booking direct with the airline is a reasonable choice for a straight card payment. What its own checkout does not give you is one search across every airline we sell, or the choice of pay-later plans at the Laters.com checkout, from Affirm Stripe, AFTEE, Afterpay and Akulaku. Pay-later plans are credit, so borrow only what you can repay. The ticket is the same either way: issued on the airline's own fare rules, with the same baggage allowance, seat selection and Cacique Rewards earning.

The Laters.com Airline Quality Score - InterCaribbean Airways

Cyan cartoon hand making a peace sign with black outline sticker style illustration

What is the Laters.com Airline Quality Score?

Our editorial rating, out of 10, for what an airline is actually like to fly once you have booked it.

  1. 1Reliability & operations
  2. 2Comfort & experience
  3. 3Value & network
  4. 4Professional airline rating

Every airline we ticket is scored on the same 4 measures, so you can compare them like for like before you book. See the full methodology See all airline scores β†’

Scored by the Laters.com editorial team from the airline’s own published specifications and named third-party measurements. No airline pays to be rated, no placement is sold, and this page contains no affiliate links.

InterCaribbean Airways scores 5.1 out of 10: the plain average of the measures below, rounded to one decimal. Each measure is an editorial assessment of the published facts.

What to watch

  • Seat pitch unpublished for every aircraft type
  • No on-time figure from a named body confirmed
  • Second international bag costs $50 online, $65 airport
  • Domestic Turks and Caicos check-in closes 30 minutes before

4 measures, scored the same way for every airline we ticket.

Reliability & operations5/10

No on-time figure from a named measurement body is confirmed, so punctuality cannot be scored up. The fleet runs six types, from the 76-seat Embraer E170 to the 19-seat DHC-6 Twin Otter, with no counts published. Domestic Turks and Caicos check-in closes 30 minutes before departure, international 60, so allow for that.

Comfort & experience4.5/10

Seat pitch is not published for any aircraft, which holds this measure down. The Embraer E170 has 76 seats in a 2-2 layout with no middle seats. Carry-on is limited to 10 lb and 9 x 12 x 16 inches, one piece, so pack small. Wi-Fi, meals and entertainment are unconfirmed.

Value & network7/10

Carry-on and the first checked bag (up to 50 lb, 23 kg) are free on every fare class, and seat assignment costs $0-$5. A second international bag is $50 online or $65 at the airport. Cacique Points do not expire, but no airline partners are published, which holds this below an 8.

Professional airline rating4/10

No star rating from a named body is confirmed, and that holds this measure down. A World Travel Awards title for 2024 is reported only secondhand and unchecked, so it is not counted. What stands is operating history: founded in 1991, with the TCI Civil Aviation Authority as its regulator.

How the score is built

  • 4 measures, each scored out of 10
  • The headline is the plain average of those measures, computed in the open
  • Each measure is an editorial assessment based on the published facts and sources in the breakdown
  • No airline pays to be rated, and no placement is sold

What we deliberately left out

  1. Safety. It is not a marketing metric and we will not rank carriers on it.
  2. Cancellation rate and fleet age. Omitted rather than estimated, until a sourced field exists for every airline.
  3. Any sub-metric we cannot attribute. An unsourced measure is dropped, not guessed.
  4. Blended third-party scores that mix in inputs we have already rejected elsewhere on this page.

FAQs: Booking InterCaribbean Airways and Paying Later

Everything about booking InterCaribbean Airways flights on Laters.com and splitting the fare, plus the airline’s own rules that decide what you get.

InterCaribbean Airways Embraer EMB-120 Brasilia VQ-TVG on approach to Antigua

Can I book InterCaribbean Airways flights on Laters and pay later?

Yes. At the Laters.com checkout for InterCaribbean Airways (JY) flights, the pay-later providers shown are Affirm Stripe, AFTEE, Afterpay and Akulaku, in that order. This works on every fare class, including the Flexible (Y class), Best Fare and Saver fares the airline sells. Your e-ticket is delivered instantly after approval.

Who decides whether I can pay for a InterCaribbean Airways flight in instalments?

The pay-later provider you pick at checkout decides, not interCaribbean. Laters does not publish approval limits, and none are stated here. If one provider declines you, the checkout lists the other three (Affirm Stripe, AFTEE, Afterpay, Akulaku) for the same JY flight.

Is there a credit check when I pay for InterCaribbean Airways flights later?

The provider you choose sets its own checks, and each one explains them before you accept. Laters states no figures for them. interCaribbean also has its own Book Now, Pay Later option on its website, which is online-only and holds your seat until a payment deadline shown at checkout. That is a separate airline feature and is not a Laters plan.

Will paying for a InterCaribbean Airways flight later affect my credit score?

Paying later is credit, so how it shows on your record depends on the provider's terms, which you should read before accepting. Laters cannot state an effect for any provider. A seat hold under interCaribbean's own Book Now, Pay Later is different: it reserves the JY seat until a deadline shown at checkout. Only borrow what you can repay on schedule.

What happens if I miss an instalment on a InterCaribbean Airways booking?

Late fees and any other consequences are set by your provider (Affirm Stripe, AFTEE, Afterpay or Akulaku), so check those terms before you accept. Laters states no fee amounts. Changing your trip to ease the cost is not free on interCaribbean: its change fee is $50 on international flights and $20 on domestic ones. If you think you will miss a payment, contact the provider before the due date.

What if InterCaribbean Airways cancels my flight and I'm paying in instalments?

Refund rights for a cancelled JY flight come from interCaribbean's contract of carriage, and the airline is regulated by the TCI Civil Aviation Authority. No refund timeline is confirmed here, so none is stated. Ask your pay-later provider how a refund is applied to the instalments you have left, and keep paying on schedule until it confirms.

How is paying later on Laters different from interCaribbean's own Book Now, Pay Later?

interCaribbean's Book Now, Pay Later is online-only: it holds your seat and you pay in full before the deadline shown at checkout. On Laters you book the JY flight and a provider (Affirm Stripe, AFTEE, Afterpay or Akulaku) approves you for instalments. Your e-ticket arrives instantly after approval. Laters also adds no hidden booking fees.

How much baggage is included on InterCaribbean Airways if I book through Laters?

Booking through Laters does not change the allowance. Every interCaribbean fare class includes 1 free checked bag of up to 50 lb (23 kg), plus 1 carry-on piece. The carry-on is limited to 9 x 12 x 16 inches and 10 lb, and the crew may ask for it to go in the hold. A child fare gets the same allowance as an adult fare.

What do extra bags cost on InterCaribbean Airways?

A second bag costs $25 on domestic flights and $50 online ($65 by phone or at the airport) on international ones. A third to fifth international bag is $100, and an international bag weighing 51 to 70 lb is $50. No bag over 70 lb is accepted. Bags beyond the first are subject to space and may not travel on the same flight.

When can I check in for a InterCaribbean Airways flight?

Online check-in opens 36 hours before departure, or 24 hours for flights leaving San Juan (SJU). Airport counters open 2.5 hours before departure. Check-in and bag drop close 60 minutes before international flights and 30 minutes before domestic flights within the Turks and Caicos Islands. Bags accepted less than 30 minutes before departure may be marked Late Check-In and are not guaranteed to travel.

Where do I check in at Providenciales, InterCaribbean Airways' hub?

At Providenciales International Airport (PLS), check-in for both domestic and international interCaribbean flights is in the domestic counter area of the Main Terminal. PLS is the airline's primary hub, and the airline is headquartered in Providenciales. The same 60-minute international and 30-minute domestic cut-offs apply there.

How do I choose an instalment plan for a bigger InterCaribbean Airways fare?

Start with the total, not just the fare. interCaribbean sells Flexible (Y class), Best Fare and Saver fares, and all of them include 1 free checked bag up to 50 lb. Add any extras you expect, such as a $50 online second bag on an international flight, a $100 golf bag or a $75 bicycle. Then compare the repayment terms each provider shows before you accept, and pick the longest term only if it costs you less overall.

Can I change my InterCaribbean Airways booking while I'm paying it off?

You can ask interCaribbean to change it, but the airline's change fee is $50 on international flights and $20 on domestic flights. That fee is separate from your instalments, and your provider's terms still govern the repayments. Check both before you rebook, because the plan on the original booking may not adjust automatically.

Which countries can use pay later for InterCaribbean Airways flights on Laters?

Laters does not list countries here. Which of Affirm Stripe, AFTEE, Afterpay and Akulaku you see depends on the provider's own coverage, and the checkout shows what is open to you. interCaribbean's own site separately offers Pay by Paymaster for Jamaica, where you book online and pay in cash or with a local debit card at a Paymaster location.

Can I earn Cacique Rewards points on a InterCaribbean Airways flight I pay for later?

Cacique Rewards is interCaribbean's free programme. Points are earned on eligible flights with JY flight numbers, and you must add your member number before travel. Economy class Y earns 150%, V 125%, B 110%, M 100% and T 75%, while O, G and P earn 0%. Points do not expire, and missing-points claims must be made within 90 days of departure. Whether the fare you book on Laters is eligible depends on its booking class.

Wikipedia: InterCaribbean Airways

Who is InterCaribbean Airways?

InterCaribbean Airways is a Caribbean airline based in Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands. It was founded in 1991 as InterIsland Airways and is regulated by the TCI Civil Aviation Authority. No star rating or award has been confirmed for it, so this page quotes none.

Providenciales is the hub. The network runs from Havana in the west to Barbados in the east and Guyana in the south. No alliance membership is confirmed, so do not count on connections beyond its own flights. Its programme, Cacique Rewards, is free to join. Points are earned on flights with JY flight numbers, depend on route distance and booking class, do not expire, and are redeemed on interCaribbean's own scheduled flights. No tier names or partner airlines are published.

Paying later changes very little. The fare is the same as paying by card. Every fare class carries one free checked bag, and you still get one carry-on piece. Cacique earning follows the fare class you bought. The ticket is issued on InterCaribbean Airways's own rules, so you fly as its own passenger and simply spread the cost.

Paying later is credit. Availability varies by market, and a credit check may apply. A missed instalment has consequences with the provider, which can include a late fee. Only split a fare you are sure you can repay.

Fleet and on-time performance

InterCaribbean Airways flies a mixed fleet, not a single-type one. It leans on Embraer for its jets, the E170 and the ERJ145, and adds the Embraer EMB 120 Brasilia, the ATR 72-500, the ATR 42-500 and the DHC-6 Twin Otter. The airline says it is the only one in the world operating the EMB 120, ERJ 145 and E170 together. None of these is a long-haul type, which fits a Caribbean network. The Twin Otter flies domestic routes within the Turks and Caicos Islands.

These are the types in service when the facts were confirmed, and deliveries and retirements change them. Per-type counts are not published, so none appear here. Punctuality, cancellation rate and fleet age are left out rather than estimated, since none of them has a confirmed figure yet.
