Can You Pay Later on Hawaiian Airlines?

Yes, on Every Route They Fly, on Laters.com

Yes. Book Hawaiian Airlines on Laters.com, split the fare with a plan such as Pay in 4 from Zip, Klarna or Affirm at checkout, and get the e-ticket straight away. This applies on every route Hawaiian Airlines flies and every fare class, so there is no route or fare to check first, only a plan to choose.

Paying later is a payment method at the Laters.com checkout, not something Hawaiian Airlines has to switch on, which is why it works on every route we ticket. Search the route, choose a provider on the payment screen, pick a plan, and the e-ticket lands as soon as payment is approved. Which plans someone sees is set by the country they book from, not by the airline they fly, and checkout shows only the plans their fare qualifies for, so there is nothing to work out in advance.

An installment plan leaves the fare alone, and the baggage allowance, and the seat, and what the fare class earns toward loyalty status. You fly as a normal Hawaiian Airlines passenger on Hawaiian Airlines' own fare rules, and only the paying is spread. Told honestly rather than as a blanket catch-all: interest-free installment plans run a soft eligibility check that does not affect a credit score, interest-bearing monthly financing runs a full credit check, and approval is never guaranteed on either. A reader who wants no plan at all can still pay in full by card, or with crypto, at the same checkout.

Hawaiian Airlines is paid in full at booking. You repay the provider on the plan you choose, and your e-ticket is issued straight away. The same installment shape can carry a different name depending on provider and market.

Illustrative only. The figures above are computed from the fare you set: plain division for the interest-free plans, and each plan's own illustrative rate over its stated term for monthly financing. They are not an offer, a quote, or a prediction of what you will be given. Laters.com is not the lender and takes no part in the decision: which plans appear, the instalment amounts, any interest and fees, and whether you are eligible at all are determined by the provider alone, and depend on a credit or eligibility assessment, your country and your basket. The only way to see your real plans is to choose a provider at checkout, at which point that provider, not Laters.com, approves or declines the purchase. All plans, rates, fees and terms are estimates only and subject to approval and to change.

Laters.com vs booking direct

Why buy Hawaiian Airlines flights with Laters.com?

Booking direct with Hawaiian Airlines works fine if you're paying by card in one go. What that checkout won't give you is a single search across every airline we sell, or the choice of pay-later plans Laters.com carries alongside the airline's own options. Either way, you get the same Hawaiian Airlines ticket, issued on the same fare rules, with the same baggage allowance, seat selection and loyalty earning. Splitting the cost changes nothing about what you're flying.

What is the Laters.com Airline Quality Score?

Our editorial rating, out of 10, for what an airline is actually like to fly once you have booked it.

  1. 1Reliability & operations
  2. 2Comfort & experience
  3. 3Value & network
  4. 4Professional airline rating

Every airline we ticket is scored on the same 4 measures, so you can compare them like for like before you book. See the full methodology See all airline scores โ†’

Scored by the Laters.com editorial team from the airlineโ€™s own published specifications and named third-party measurements. No airline pays to be rated, no placement is sold, and this page contains no affiliate links.

Hawaiian Airlines scores 6.0 out of 10: the plain average of the measures below, rounded to one decimal. Each measure is an editorial assessment of the published facts.

What to watch

  • Skytrax says inconsistency is lowering Hawaiian Airlines' overall rating
  • The Skytrax page shows no date for the 3-Star certification
  • The on-time ranking is for Alaska Air Group as a whole, not Hawaiian alone
  • No verified seat pitch is held for Hawaiian, so cabin dimensions are not scored

Reliability & operations7/10

Alaska Air Group, which includes Hawaiian Airlines, ranked No. 1 among U.S. carriers for on-time performance in the first half of 2026, according to Cirium. Hawaiian is not reported separately, so treat this as a group ranking rather than a Hawaiian-only figure.

Comfort & experience5/10

Skytrax certifies Hawaiian Airlines as a 3-Star Airline and says it can excel for friendly staff service, but inconsistency is lowering the overall rating. We hold no verified seat pitch for Hawaiian, so cabin dimensions are left out rather than guessed.

Value & network6/10

Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines together serve more than 140 destinations, and Hawaiian's loyalty program is now Atmos Rewards, shared with Alaska since October 1, 2025. No verified fare or fee figures are held for Hawaiian, so this score rests on network and program only.

How the score is built

  • 4 measures, each scored out of 10
  • The headline is the plain average of those measures, computed in the open
  • Each measure is an editorial assessment based on the published facts and sources in the breakdown
  • No airline pays to be rated, and no placement is sold

What we deliberately left out

  1. Safety. It is not a marketing metric and we will not rank carriers on it.
  2. Cancellation rate and fleet age. Omitted rather than estimated, until a sourced field exists for every airline.
  3. Any sub-metric we cannot attribute. An unsourced measure is dropped, not guessed.
  4. Blended third-party scores that mix in inputs we have already rejected elsewhere on this page.

FAQs: Booking Hawaiian Airlines and Paying Later

Everything about booking Hawaiian Airlines flights on Laters.com and splitting the fare, plus the airlineโ€™s own rules that decide what you get.

Can I do a payment plan for flight tickets?

Yes. Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines offer Flex Pay by Upgrade: monthly installments with APRs from 0% to 36%, a $49 minimum purchase and an eligibility check that does not affect your credit score, though not everyone is eligible. Otherwise payment by card, debit card or digital payment is required at the time of the original booking, and phone or airport purchases add a non-refundable $30 USD service charge. On Laters.com you can also split a Hawaiian Airlines fare with providers such as Zip, Klarna and Affirm at checkout when they are offered for your booking. See the airline's forms of payment or how pay later works on Laters.com.

Can I use Afterpay for Hawaiian Airlines?

Not on the airline's own site. Hawaiian and Alaska list Flex Pay by Upgrade, cards, debit cards with the Visa or Mastercard logo, and Apple Pay, with no Afterpay. On Laters.com, Afterpay is one of the North America pay-later options at checkout when it is offered for your booking, and Afterpay decides approval and limits. See Afterpay on Laters.com and the airline's forms of payment.

Is it hard to get approved for a Hawaiian Airlines credit card?

This page is about paying for Hawaiian Airlines flights, not about applying for a co-brand card. Hawaiian's loyalty program is now Atmos Rewards, shared with Alaska Airlines since October 1, 2025, and card offers are decided by the issuing bank. You can pay later without a new card: at Laters.com checkout the pay-later provider decides approval, interest-free installment plans run a soft check that does not affect a credit score, and monthly financing runs a full credit check. Read how HawaiianMiles became Atmos Rewards.

Can I pay later for flights to Hawaii?

Yes. Book on Laters.com and choose a pay-later plan at checkout, and the e-ticket is issued once payment is approved; the plan does not change the fare or the route. Which providers you see depends on your booking and eligibility, and some providers exclude certain US states, so check the provider's own terms before you commit. Hawaiian Airlines also lists Flex Pay by Upgrade on its own site for monthly payments.

Does Hawaiian Airlines do payment plans?

Yes, one. Hawaiian and Alaska offer Flex Pay by Upgrade: monthly installments, APRs from 0% to 36%, a $49 minimum purchase, a possible down payment and no late or prepayment fees. Its page says you can check eligibility with no impact on your credit score, and that residents of Iowa, West Virginia and Washington, D.C. are not eligible. It lists no Pay in 4 provider, which is where Laters.com adds Zip, Klarna, Afterpay and others.

Can I book a flight without paying immediately?

Not with a hold. Hawaiian and Alaska require card, debit card or digital payment at the time of the original booking, and Laters.com issues your e-ticket straight away rather than holding a fare. What you can do is cancel: Alaska's 24-hour policy gives a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours of purchase for travel starting more than 24 hours later, and US DOT rules require airlines to offer either a 24-hour hold or a 24-hour cancellation for tickets bought at least seven days out. To spread the cost instead, use a pay-later plan. See Alaska's 24-hour policy and DOT's ticket-buying guide.

Can I use Afterpay to pay for flights?

Yes, through Laters.com when Afterpay is offered for your booking; the airline does not need to accept it on its own site. Afterpay serves shoppers who are at least 18, live in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia and can enter a binding contract, and its Pay in 4 has four interest-free payments over six weeks when paid on time. What you see at checkout is what applies to your order. See who can use Afterpay.

Is Afterpay available in Hawaii?

Afterpay's help center says it serves shoppers who live within one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia, which includes Hawaii, and it does not name Hawaii as an exclusion there. Its separate Pay Monthly option is different: Afterpay says it excludes customers in West Virginia, New Mexico, Nevada and Hawaii. Afterpay decides eligibility per order. See who can use Afterpay and Afterpay Pay Monthly.

Does Klarna work in Hawaii?

Klarna's own Pay in 4 page says the plan is currently available nationwide, except for Hawaii, US territories other than Puerto Rico, and APO, FPO and DPO addresses, so Pay in 4 is not available in Hawaii. Klarna's page does not say the same for its other plans, so check what checkout offers for your booking. Klarna says Pay in 4 uses a soft credit check that does not affect your credit score. See Klarna Pay in 4.

Can I use Klarna to pay for flights?

Yes, through Laters.com when Klarna is offered for your booking. You choose Klarna at the Laters.com checkout, so the airline does not need to accept it on its own site, and Klarna's Pay in 4 uses a soft credit check. Klarna's Pay in 4 is not available in Hawaii, and offers vary by booking and eligibility. See Klarna's Laters.com listing and Klarna Pay in 4.

Can I use Affirm to buy a flight and pay later?

Yes, where Affirm is offered for your booking on Laters.com. Affirm says you can pay over time for plane tickets, with monthly plans at 0% to 36% APR based on your credit and subject to an eligibility check, and a down payment may be required. Hawaiian and Alaska do not list Affirm on their forms-of-payment page. See Affirm for travel.

Can I pay for flights in 4 installments using PayPal?

PayPal offers Pay in 4 on eligible purchases, including a page for flights, with a soft credit check that does not affect your credit score. PayPal's own pages differ on purchase limits and on which states are excluded, so check PayPal's current terms at checkout rather than relying on a range here. Its separate Pay Monthly loan is not available to residents of Alaska, Connecticut, Hawaii or Washington. Hawaiian and Alaska do not list PayPal on their forms-of-payment page. See PayPal buy now pay later.

Is Flexpay worth it for flights?

That depends on your budget and the total cost, so compare before you commit. The facts: Flex Pay by Upgrade, which Hawaiian and Alaska offer, is a fixed monthly installment loan with APRs from 0% to 36% based on your credit and purchase, a soft inquiry to check eligibility, and late payments reported to the credit bureaus for US residents. A 0% offer adds no interest; a higher APR does. See Upgrade's Flex Pay FAQ and Alaska's Flex Pay page.

Which airlines use buy now pay later?

Several US airlines list their own pay-later options. United and Alaska with Hawaiian offer Flex Pay by Upgrade, and American lists Affirm for flights and seats plus Citi Flex Pay for eligible cardholders. Availability and terms vary by airline and by traveler. On Laters.com you can use pay-later providers on 650+ airlines at one checkout, including airlines with no plan of their own. See United's Flex Pay, Alaska's Flex Pay and American's payment options.

What airline allows you to pay monthly?

Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines offer monthly payments through Flex Pay by Upgrade, and United lists Flex Pay too, each with its own eligibility rules and APRs. On Laters.com, monthly financing from providers such as Affirm and Klarna can be offered on any airline when it is available for your booking, subject to a credit check. See Alaska's Flex Pay and United's Flex Pay.

What is going to happen to the Hawaiian Airlines credit card?

Alaska says the Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Mastercard continues unchanged, with the same name and benefits and no action needed for cardmembers. Alaska and Bank of America have said they are working toward Bank of America becoming the single issuer of all Atmos Rewards co-brand cards, including Hawaiian's, but no Hawaiian-specific date or change has been published. The Hawaiian card page still names Barclays Bank Delaware as issuer. Check the issuer's page for the latest. See Alaska's Atmos Rewards announcement and Alaska and Bank of America.

What credit score do you need for a Hawaiian Airlines credit card?

No official source publishes a minimum score. The card issuer's application page says only that the offer is subject to credit approval. Paying for a flight later on Laters.com is a separate credit decision made by the pay-later provider. See the Hawaiian Airlines card application page.

About Hawaiian Airlines and Laters.com

About Hawaiian Airlines

Skytrax: Hawaiian Airlines 3-Star

Who is Hawaiian Airlines?

Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines have flown under a single FAA operating certificate since October 29, 2025, and together serve destinations across North America, Latin America, Asia and the Pacific. Hawaiian's loyalty program, formerly HawaiianMiles, became Atmos Rewards on October 1, 2025, shared with Alaska. Skytrax certifies Hawaiian Airlines as a 3-Star Airline.

Paying in installments through Laters.com changes how you pay, not what you fly. The fare is identical to paying by card in one go, the checked baggage allowance is whatever the fare itself carries, and any loyalty points are earned exactly as the fare class dictates. Your ticket is issued under Hawaiian Airlines' own conditions of carriage, so you travel as a normal Hawaiian Airlines passenger from booking to boarding. All that changes is the timing of your payments. That's credit, so some plans carry interest and some don't, and missing an installment can bring a late fee and consequences with the provider, so only commit to a schedule you can keep.

Fleet and on-time performance

We hold no verified fleet size, fleet age or cancellation rate for Hawaiian Airlines, so none is shown here; we'd rather leave a gap than guess. Fleet details will be added once a sourced record exists.

Laters.com is operated by Fly Fairly Pte. Ltd., a travel agent licensed by the Singapore Tourism Board under licence TA04059. Contact Laters.com about a booking, including changes and cancellations; contact your payment provider about your repayment account.
