Disney Abu Dhabi is not open, and no official opening date has been announced. The Walt Disney Company and Miral announced plans for the resort on Yas Island on May 7, 2025, and Visit Abu Dhabi, the emirate's official tourism site, expects it to open sometime between 2030 and 2032. This status was last checked in October 2026.

When will Disney Abu Dhabi open?
There is no official date. When Disney and Miral announced the project on May 7, 2025, they said further details will be announced as the project progresses. Neither company has published an opening date.
The only official timeline comes from Visit Abu Dhabi. It says no dates have been officially communicated yet, the project is in early design, and an opening is expected sometime between 2030 and 2032. Treat that window as an expectation, not a confirmed date.
No official source points to an opening in 2026 or 2027.

Who builds and runs it
Miral pays for the resort, builds it and will operate it. Disney leads the creative design and licenses its intellectual property (IP). Here is how each source puts it:
- The May 7, 2025 announcement says Miral will fully develop and build the resort and will operate it, while Disney and its Imagineers lead creative design and operational oversight.
- Disney's Josh D'Amaro said on May 14, 2025, at the MoffettNathanson conference, that Miral fully funds the project and will build and ultimately operate it, with significant oversight from Disney, and that Disney controls all the creative and design elements.
- Bob Iger said on Disney's earnings call on May 7, 2025, that Disney will oversee design and license its IP: "It is all their capital, and we will get a royalty."

What has been announced so far
Disney calls the project its seventh theme park resort. Miral and Visit Abu Dhabi also describe it as Disney's first theme park resort in the Middle East. Visit Abu Dhabi's page uses the name Disneyland Abu Dhabi.
The announcement says the resort on Yas Island will have:
- signature Disney entertainment
- themed accommodations
- unique dining and retail experiences
Disney has not published which lands, rides or characters the park will include. Visit Abu Dhabi says the project is still in early design.
