Can You Pay Later on TAROM?

Yes, on Every Route They Fly, on Laters.com

Yes. Book TAROM on Laters.com, pick a Klarna payment plan inside the checkout, and get the e-ticket straight away on any route TAROM flies, from a punctual, SkyTeam-affiliated carrier. The plan sits on top of the booking, not inside the airline's own system, so it works the same way across the entire network.

Paying later is a payment method at the Laters.com checkout, not something TAROM has to switch on, which is why it works on every route we ticket. Search the route, choose a provider on the payment screen, pick a plan, and the e-ticket arrives as soon as payment is approved. Which plans you see is set by the country you book from, not by the airline you fly, so checkout shows only the plans your fare qualifies for. There is nothing to work out in advance.

An instalment plan leaves the fare alone, and the baggage allowance, and the seat, and what the fare class earns in TAROM's own loyalty programme. You fly as TAROM's own passenger on TAROM's own fare rules, and only the paying is spread. Interest-free instalment plans run a soft eligibility check that does not affect a credit score, interest-bearing monthly financing runs a full credit check, and approval is never guaranteed on either. If a plan isn't for you, the same checkout takes full payment by card or crypto instead.

Illustrative only. The figures above are computed from the fare you set: plain division for the interest-free plans, and each plan's own illustrative rate over its stated term for monthly financing. They are not an offer, a quote, or a prediction of what you will be given. Laters.com is not the lender and takes no part in the decision: which plans appear, the instalment amounts, any interest and fees, and whether you are eligible at all are determined by the provider alone, and depend on a credit or eligibility assessment, your country and your basket. The only way to see your real plans is to choose a provider at checkout, at which point that provider, not Laters.com, approves or declines the purchase. All plans, rates, fees and terms are estimates only and subject to approval and to change.

Laters.com vs booking direct

Why buy TAROM flights with Laters.com?

Booking direct with the airline is a reasonable choice if you're paying by card in full. But that checkout only shows you TAROM, and only its own way to pay. Laters.com searches every airline we sell in one place, and lets you pick from a range of pay-later plans at checkout. Either way you get the same TAROM ticket, issued under TAROM's own fare rules, with identical baggage allowance, seat selection and loyalty earning. Splitting the cost changes nothing about what you fly.

How the score is built

  • 4 measures, each scored out of 10
  • The headline is the plain average of those measures, computed in the open
  • Each measure is an editorial assessment based on the published facts and sources in the breakdown
  • No airline pays to be rated, and no placement is sold

What we deliberately left out

  1. Safety. It is not a marketing metric and we will not rank carriers on it.
  2. Cancellation rate and fleet age. Omitted rather than estimated, until a sourced field exists for every airline.
  3. Any sub-metric we cannot attribute. An unsourced measure is dropped, not guessed.
  4. Blended third-party scores that mix in inputs we have already rejected elsewhere on this page.

FAQs: Booking TAROM and Paying Later

Everything about booking TAROM flights on Laters.com and splitting the fare, plus the airline’s own rules that decide what you get.

TAROM Boeing 737-800 YR-BGL at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport

Can I book TAROM flights on Laters and pay later?

Yes. TAROM (RO) fares booked through Laters.com can be split into instalments through one of Laters' 100+ payment options rather than paid in full at checkout. This applies to routes across TAROM's network, including its OTP-SCV and OTP-IAS pairs.

Does using a payment plan change my TAROM ticket conditions?

No, a payment plan only changes how you pay Laters.com, not TAROM's own fare rules. Your booking stays governed by TAROM's Travelling Terms and Conditions, the same terms that apply to any fare on tarom.ro.

Will a missed instalment affect my TAROM booking specifically?

Laters manages the payment plan and TAROM manages the flight, so a missed instalment is a credit matter with Laters and does not automatically cancel your TAROM seat. As with any credit product, missed payments can still affect your standing with the lender, so keep instalments on schedule.

Is TAROM reliable enough to book on a payment plan months ahead?

TAROM's own reporting puts 2025 on-time performance at 82.24% (19,240 of 23,396 flights, within a 15-minute window), more than six points above the European average of 76.1%. That track record is worth weighing if you're committing to instalments on a flight booked well in advance.

What happens to my instalments if TAROM cancels my flight?

If TAROM cancels a flight, refund handling follows TAROM's own Travelling Terms and Conditions rather than a generic airline policy. Any amount already paid through your Laters instalment plan would be treated according to those same TAROM terms once a refund is processed.

How much legroom does TAROM give in economy versus business?

On TAROM's Boeing 737-800, economy seat pitch is 30 inches with 17 inches of width. TAROM has not published a separate, independently verified business-class pitch figure, so we won't state one here.

Can I check in for TAROM online after booking through Laters?

Yes, TAROM offers online check-in, so a booking made through Laters and paid off in instalments is checked in the same way as any other TAROM ticket. Check-in itself is managed by TAROM, separate from your Laters payment schedule.

What's TAROM's carry-on size limit if I book with a payment plan?

TAROM's carry-on allowance is sized at 55x40x20 cm. This limit applies regardless of whether the fare was paid up front or split into instalments through Laters.

Does paying for TAROM in instalments affect my credit score?

It can. Buy now, pay later products are a form of credit, and how a missed or late instalment is reported depends on the specific plan and lender you choose at Laters checkout. Review the terms of your chosen plan before booking your TAROM flight.

How does TAROM's overall quality compare when I'm deciding to book now and pay later?

TAROM scores 6.8 out of 10 on Laters' tracked airline quality score, reflecting strong punctuality (82.24% on-time in 2025) and Skytrax's 3-Star certification, offset by a compact route network. That figure is useful context before committing to a multi-instalment plan.

About TAROM and Laters.com

About TAROM

TAROM Boeing 737-700 YR-BGF in SkyTeam livery at Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport

Founding year · On-time performance · Skytrax · Hub airport

Who is TAROM?

TAROM is Romania's national carrier, flying under the IATA code RO. It has been a full member of the SkyTeam alliance since 25 June 2010, and Skytrax currently certifies it as a 3-Star Airline for its onboard product, airport service and staff service. Its main hub is Henri Coanda International Airport (OTP) in Bucharest.

Booking TAROM through Laters.com and paying in instalments doesn't change what you fly. The fare is the same one you'd pay by card, the baggage allowance is whatever the fare you pick includes, and any loyalty points earned follow that fare class, not the payment method. Your ticket is issued on TAROM's own conditions of carriage, so you travel as a normal TAROM passenger and simply spread the cost over time instead of paying it all upfront.

That spreading is a form of credit, and it's worth treating it that way. Some plans carry no interest, others do, a soft credit check may apply depending on the plan, and there's an upper limit on how much of a fare you can split. Miss an instalment and there are consequences with the provider handling the plan, so only commit to a schedule you're confident you can keep.

Fleet and on-time performance

There's no confirmed detail here on which aircraft types TAROM operates or how they're split between short-haul and long-haul flying, so we're not going to list types or a fleet count that hasn't been verified. The same goes for punctuality: without a published figure from a body that measured it, and for a stated period, we won't put a percentage next to TAROM's name. Cancellation rate and average fleet age are left out for the same reason, not because they don't matter, but because neither has a confirmed figure here. Figures like these move as aircraft are delivered or retired, so when they are confirmed we'll date them and update this page rather than let a stale number sit here unchecked.
