Can You Pay Later on Loganair?

Yes, on Every Route They Fly, on Laters.com

Yes. You can book Loganair on Laters.com and pay later with Clearpay Pay in 4: four interest-free payments over six weeks, chosen inside the checkout for UK bookings. Search, book, pick the plan, and your e-ticket arrives straight away. Approval is never guaranteed, and paying later is a form of credit.

Paying later is a payment method built into the Laters.com checkout, not a switch Loganair has to flip, which is why it works on every route we ticket. Search your route, choose a provider on the payment screen, pick a plan, and your e-ticket lands as soon as payment is approved. Which plans you see is set by the country you're booking from, not by the airline you fly, so checkout simply shows the plans your fare qualifies for.

An instalment plan leaves the fare alone, along with the baggage allowance, the seat, and whatever the fare class earns you. You fly as Loganair's own passenger under Loganair's own fare rules, and only the paying is spread out. Interest-free plans run a soft eligibility check that won't affect your credit score, while interest-bearing monthly financing involves a full credit check, and approval is never guaranteed either way. If a plan isn't for you, the same checkout still takes payment in full by card or crypto.

Suits a shorter regional Loganair fare. Offered through Clearpay. No interest, though a credit check may apply and the provider sets any late fee. Part of the fare leaves the account at checkout.

Loganair is paid in full at booking. The traveller repays the provider on the chosen plan, and the e-ticket is issued straight away. The same short instalment shape trades under different names by provider and market, so what's offered may not match the name used here.

Illustrative only. The figures above are computed from the fare you set: plain division for the interest-free plans, and each plan's own illustrative rate over its stated term for monthly financing. They are not an offer, a quote, or a prediction of what you will be given. Laters.com is not the lender and takes no part in the decision: which plans appear, the instalment amounts, any interest and fees, and whether you are eligible at all are determined by the provider alone, and depend on a credit or eligibility assessment, your country and your basket. The only way to see your real plans is to choose a provider at checkout, at which point that provider, not Laters.com, approves or declines the purchase. All plans, rates, fees and terms are estimates only and subject to approval and to change.

Why buy Loganair flights with Laters.com?

Loganair's own checkout takes cards and PayPal, including PayPal Pay in 3. Laters.com adds Clearpay Pay in 4 for UK bookings, crypto, and the other airlines on your route in the same search; compare the same itinerary, fare and total repayment in both before you choose. Either way you fly on Loganair's own fare rules with the same baggage allowance. Paying later is a form of credit, so only commit to a plan you can keep up with.

The Laters.com Airline Quality Score - Loganair

Cyan cartoon hand making a peace sign with black outline sticker style illustration

What is the Laters.com Airline Quality Score?

Our editorial rating, out of 10, for what an airline is actually like to fly once you have booked it.

  1. 1Reliability & operations
  2. 2Comfort & experience
  3. 3Value & network
  4. 4Professional airline rating

Every airline we ticket is scored on the same 4 measures, so you can compare them like for like before you book. See the full methodology See all airline scores →

Scored by the Laters.com editorial team from the airline’s own published specifications and named third-party measurements. No airline pays to be rated, no placement is sold, and this page contains no affiliate links.

Loganair scores 5.8 out of 10: the plain average of the measures below, rounded to one decimal. Each measure is an editorial assessment of the published facts.

What to watch

  • No verified third-party rating (Skytrax) was available for this review
  • Cabin bag capped at 6 kg on every fare
  • Fly Flex+ hold allowance drops from 30 kg to 15 kg on some island routes
  • Weather-exposed island network, with an 81% on-time rate in Jan-Sep 2025 per CAA data

The editorial take

4 measures, scored the same way for every airline we ticket.

Comfort & experience4/10

Cabin bags are capped at 6 kg and the fleet is regional turboprops and Embraer 145 jets with no premium cabin, so comfort suits short island and mainland hops rather than long sectors.

Value & network6/10

Every fare includes a 6 kg cabin bag and a hold bag of 15 kg (Fly), 23 kg (Fly Flex) or 30 kg (Fly Flex+), and an extra 15 kg bag costs 25 pounds online, so even the base fare keeps luggage included.

Professional airline rating5/10

No Skytrax star rating could be verified for this review, so this measure rests on the 2025 punctuality ranking (81% on time, level with Virgin Atlantic) and is held at the midpoint until a third-party rating is sourced.

How the score is built

  • 4 measures, each scored out of 10
  • The headline is the plain average of those measures, computed in the open
  • Each measure is an editorial assessment based on the published facts and sources in the breakdown
  • No airline pays to be rated, and no placement is sold

What we deliberately left out

  1. Safety. It is not a marketing metric and we will not rank carriers on it.
  2. Cancellation rate and fleet age. Omitted rather than estimated, until a sourced field exists for every airline.
  3. Any sub-metric we cannot attribute. An unsourced measure is dropped, not guessed.
  4. Blended third-party scores that mix in inputs we have already rejected elsewhere on this page.

FAQs: Booking Loganair and Paying Later

Everything about booking Loganair flights on Laters.com and splitting the fare, plus the airline’s own rules that decide what you get.

Loganair DHC-6 Twin Otter G-BVVK at Glasgow Airport

Can I book Loganair flights on Laters and pay later?

Yes. Laters.com lets you search Loganair (IATA code LM) flights and choose a pay-later or instalment plan at checkout instead of paying the full fare upfront. The booking is confirmed once you pass the credit check, and you then repay the plan on the schedule you select.

Will a credit check affect my Loganair booking on Laters?

A soft or hard credit check (depending on the plan provider) is run to confirm you qualify for an instalment plan on your Loganair fare. This applies specifically because you are choosing to pay later rather than in full, and approval affects only the payment method, not your Loganair reservation itself once confirmed.

What happens if I miss an instalment payment for my Loganair flight?

Missing a scheduled instalment on a Loganair pay-later booking can trigger late fees from the credit provider and may affect your ability to use pay-later plans again on Laters. Your Loganair ticket itself remains governed by Loganair's own carriage conditions regardless of your instalment schedule, so contact your plan provider promptly if you expect to miss a payment.

Is Loganair a punctual airline?

Loganair was the joint most punctual major UK airline in 2025: around 81% of its scheduled flights ran on time, against a national average of about 72%, in analysis of Civil Aviation Authority data for January to September 2025. That describes the airline, not the payment plan: paying later on Laters.com changes nothing about how your flight runs.

If Loganair cancels my flight, do I still owe the remaining instalments?

Your instalment plan is a separate agreement with the pay-later provider, so a cancelled flight does not cancel the plan on its own. If Loganair cancels, claim the refund through your Laters.com booking and contact the provider about instalments that fall due before it arrives. The provider's own terms decide what happens to payments already taken.

How much carry-on baggage can I bring on Loganair, and does that change with a payment plan?

Loganair allows a carry-on weight of 6.0 kg, and this allowance is fixed by the airline's own policy rather than by how you pay. Choosing a Laters pay-later plan for your fare does not change this baggage limit.

Can I check in online for Loganair flights booked through Laters?

Yes. Loganair offers online check-in, which opens 96 hours before departure at all airports and closes 1 hour before departure at UK airports (3 hours before at Exeter and Esbjerg). Airport check-in desks close 40 minutes before UK-to-UK departures (45 minutes at London Heathrow) and 1 hour before international departures. Paying later on Laters.com does not change any of this.

What baggage does each Loganair fare include?

Every Loganair fare includes a cabin bag of up to 6 kg (40 x 35 x 18 cm) plus a small handbag. Hold luggage is 15 kg on Fly, 23 kg on Fly Flex and 30 kg on Fly Flex+. Choosing a pay-later plan on Laters.com does not change the fare you book or its allowance.

Does paying later for a Loganair flight affect my credit score?

Using an instalment plan for a Loganair booking can appear on your credit file, since the plan provider may run a credit check and reports repayment activity. Missed payments in particular can be recorded and may lower your score, so only commit to a schedule you're confident you can meet.

How much does an extra bag cost on Loganair?

Loganair lets you add one extra piece of hold luggage of up to 15 kg for 25 pounds when you book online, or 30 pounds through the phone line or agents. No single bag may exceed 25 kg. Extras are priced by Loganair, and you can spread the total with a pay-later plan at checkout.

Which payment methods does Loganair take directly?

Loganair's own booking page accepts American Express, Visa and Mastercard credit cards, Visa debit cards, Diners and UATP charge cards, and PayPal including PayPal Pay in 3. Consumer cards carry no surcharge; corporate cards carry a 1.8% charge. On Laters.com you can also choose Clearpay Pay in 4 for UK bookings, or pay with crypto.

Is the 30 kg Fly Flex+ allowance the same on every Loganair route?

Not quite. Fly Flex+ includes 30 kg of hold luggage on most routes, but flights to Tiree, Campbeltown and Barra, and Orkney inter-island flights, are limited to 15 kg. Check the allowance for your route on Loganair's luggage page before you buy extra bags.

Which aircraft does Loganair fly?

Loganair flies ATR 42 and ATR 72 turboprops, Embraer 145 regional jets, and de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter and Britten-Norman Islander aircraft, according to its fleet page. The aircraft on your flight does not change how pay-later works, since the plan attaches to the fare you book.

How does Clearpay work on a Loganair booking?

You pay Loganair the fare in full at booking, and Clearpay Pay in 4 then splits what you owe into four interest-free payments over 6 weeks, with the first 25% taken at checkout. It is available to UK residents aged 18 or over and needs a credit check, and approval is not guaranteed. If you miss a payment Clearpay charges a 6 pound late fee, then a further 6 pound fee if it is still unpaid 7 days later, capped at 24 pounds or 25% of the order, whichever is lower.

How strict is Loganair hand luggage?

Loganair applies one rule to every fare: a cabin bag under 6 kg that fits within 40 x 35 x 18 cm so it goes in an overhead bin or under your seat, plus a small handbag. On some flights it may be necessary to put cabin luggage in the hold, and it is returned to you at the bottom of the steps on arrival.

Can I take a cabin bag and handbag on Loganair?

Yes. Every Loganair fare includes one cabin bag of up to 6 kg free of charge, plus a small handbag. Fly Flex+ adds a slimline laptop bag. The cabin bag has to stay within 40 x 35 x 18 cm.

Can I take a handbag as well as 10kg hand luggage?

You can bring a small handbag, but a 10 kg cabin bag is over Loganair's 6 kg cabin limit. Weight above 6 kg needs to go in your hold allowance, which is 15 kg on Fly, 23 kg on Fly Flex and 30 kg on Fly Flex+.

Does a woman's handbag count as hand luggage?

Loganair lets you carry a small handbag in addition to your cabin bag. Its luggage guidance does not give a size for the handbag, so check the guidance before you fly, and keep any larger bag within the 6 kg and 40 x 35 x 18 cm cabin limit.

How early can you check-in with Loganair?

Loganair opens online check-in 96 hours before departure at all airports. It closes 1 hour before departure at UK airports, or 3 hours before at Exeter and Esbjerg.

Is it better to check-in online or at the airport?

Both work, and the deadlines differ. Loganair online check-in opens 96 hours before departure and closes 1 hour before at UK airports (3 hours at Exeter and Esbjerg). Airport desks close 40 minutes before UK-to-UK departures (45 minutes at London Heathrow) and 1 hour before international departures.

Can I check-in online for my flight?

Yes. Loganair offers online check-in from 96 hours before departure at all airports, closing 1 hour before departure at UK airports and 3 hours before at Exeter and Esbjerg.

Loganair history · Edinburgh News: CAA punctuality analysis 2025

Who is Loganair?

Loganair is a Scottish regional carrier, best known for linking the Highlands and Islands with the rest of the UK. Flying with it means short-haul hops on regional aircraft rather than long-haul comfort, with the practical, no-frills service that route network demands.

Booking through Laters.com and spreading the cost does not change any of that. The fare is identical to paying by card in one go, the baggage allowance is whatever the fare you pick carries, and any loyalty points earned follow the fare class, not the payment method. The ticket is issued under Loganair's own conditions of carriage, so you fly as a normal Loganair passenger and simply pay for the seat over time rather than upfront. Paying later is a form of credit: some plans carry interest and some don't, a soft credit check or no credit check may apply depending on the plan, and there is an upper limit on the fare you can split. Missing an instalment has consequences with the provider, so treat it like any other credit commitment and only commit to a plan you can keep up with.

Fleet and on-time performance

Loganair operates a mixed fleet built for short regional hops rather than long-haul flying, with no wide-body aircraft in service. The network is short-haul by design, connecting smaller airports that larger carriers often skip. Fleet composition shifts as aircraft are delivered or retired, so treat any given lineup as a snapshot of what was flying when it was last confirmed rather than a fixed roster. We've left out cancellation rate and average fleet age here, since neither figure has a confirmed source we can stand behind, and we'd rather omit a number than guess at one.

Laters.com is operated by Fly Fairly Pte. Ltd., a travel agent licensed by the Singapore Tourism Board under licence TA04059. Contact Laters.com about a booking, including changes and cancellations; contact your payment provider about your repayment account.
