What happens after I book?
You land on a confirmation page and receive an email with your Laters.com booking reference, your airline reference (PNR), your itinerary and the price breakdown. Keep the email: both references are what you need to manage the booking, check in and reach our support team.
If the email has not arrived within an hour, check your spam folder, then contact us with the name and email you booked with.
Where do I find my booking reference and my airline reference?
Both are at the top of your confirmation email. The Laters.com booking reference is what you quote to our support team. The airline reference (PNR) is what the airline's website or app asks for when you manage the booking or check in. They are different codes, so use the right one for each site.
You can also see both on your booking page on Laters.com.
What is an e-ticket?
An e-ticket is your electronic flight ticket, stored in the airline's system and confirmed by the ticket number in your confirmation email. There is nothing to print. Check the names, dates and routing on it as soon as it arrives; if anything looks wrong, contact us straight away.
Can I choose a seat or add baggage in advance?
Yes. Seats and bags can be added during booking on Laters.com for most airlines. Where an airline does not offer them through us, complete your booking, then add them on the airline's website using your airline reference (PNR). Extras bought through Laters.com show on your booking page.
Can I book for a child who turns 2 during the trip?
Book two one-way tickets: the outbound with your child as an infant and the return with your child as a child. Airlines set the fare by the passenger's age on the day of each flight, so a single return booking would be refused at the return check-in.
Can I book for an unaccompanied minor, an infant traveling alone, or with a visa question?
These need the airline directly. Unaccompanied minor services, infant-only bookings and visa or immigration questions are decided by the operating airline and immigration authorities, not by Laters.com, so booking through the airline avoids problems at check-in. If you already hold a Laters.com booking that involves one of these, contact us and we will point you to the airline's channel.
Does my flight allow pets?
Each airline sets its own pet policy: which animals, which cabins, carrier sizes and fees. Check the operating airline's website before you book, and book your pet with the airline as early as possible, because space for animals on each flight is limited.
How long is my ticket valid?
Most tickets are valid for one year from the date of issue, but the airline's fare rules decide, and some fares are shorter. Your fare rules are shown at checkout, in your confirmation email and on your booking page.
Changes, cancellations and refunds
Can I change my flight?
It depends on the fare rules of your ticket, which you can see at checkout, in your confirmation email and on your booking page. Not every fare can be changed.
Where a change is allowed, contact us at least 48 hours before departure, during our support hours. A change has two parts: the airline's change fee, if any, and the fare difference between your original ticket and the new one. We confirm the total with the airline and quote it to you in the currency you paid in; nothing is charged until you accept. If the new fare is cheaper, airlines do not normally refund the difference.
If you change your flight directly with the airline instead, the airline takes over the booking and Laters.com can no longer see or manage it.
How do I cancel my booking, and what will I get back?
Send your cancellation request to Laters.com from the email address on the booking; we cancel with the airline for you. Whether any refund is due depends on the airline's fare rules.
Your refund is the amount the airline returns to us, less a flat USD 50 per passenger cancellation processing fee (or the equivalent in your booking currency). The fee is capped at the amount recovered, so you are never out of pocket. Cancellation Protection, discounts and add-ons such as seats and bags are non-refundable unless the airline returns the add-on amount to us.
If the airline cancels your flight, none of this applies: see the airline-cancellation answer below.
I booked less than 24 hours ago. Can I cancel for a full refund?
Often, yes. Many airlines let a ticket be voided within 24 hours of booking when the flight is at least 7 days away. Where the airline allows it, we recover your fare and taxes in full, and a flat USD 50 per passenger cancellation processing fee (or the equivalent in your booking currency) is deducted from that amount.
Time matters: the request has to reach the airline through our supplier before the airline's own deadline, so contact us as early as you can and at least 6 hours before the 24-hour mark. Once a ticket is voided it cannot be reinstated. The refund reaches you within 7 business days for flights touching the US, or 15 business days for other flights, once the airline releases the funds.
How long does a refund take?
Refunds go back to the payment method you used, and the airline's timing decides most of the wait.
- Voided within 24 hours of booking: up to 7 business days (flights touching the US) or 15 business days (other flights) after the airline releases the funds.
- Cancelled by you or by the airline: airlines usually take 4 to 12 weeks to return the money. We issue your refund within 7 business days of receiving it.
We keep your case open and update you while we wait. If you paid with a pay-later plan, keep your repayments going until the refund lands; your provider then adjusts your balance.
The airline changed or cancelled my flight. What happens now?
Airlines change schedules, and it is worth checking your flight with the airline 24 to 48 hours before departure. When we receive a change from the airline we verify it, tell you about anything meaningful (a departure more than 15 minutes earlier or 30 minutes later), and for changes of over an hour we offer you the options the airline gives us: accept the new time, or look at alternatives.
If the airline cancels your flight and offers no acceptable alternative, we claim the full amount you paid, including any airline-supplied extras such as seats and bags, and refund it to you with no cancellation processing fee, once the airline returns it (normally 4 to 12 weeks).
If your flight departs within the next 48 hours, contact the airline directly for anything urgent; they can act on the spot, and we cannot.
Can I get a credit instead of a refund?
Sometimes. Some US airlines offer a future travel credit instead of a refund, and many other airlines will keep a cancelled ticket open for rebooking later. The airline decides the value, the expiry date and the fare classes it can be used on, and the value is usually less than you paid. A credit is not cash and cannot be paid to your card.
Tell us before you cancel and we will confirm with the airline what your ticket allows, then share the value, validity and rebooking terms so you can choose. Depending on the airline, the credit may only be redeemable through Laters.com.
What happens if I miss my flight?
If you do not check in or board, the airline marks the ticket as a no-show. The airline may then cancel the rest of your itinerary, including your return flight, and the ticket usually becomes non-refundable. This is automatic on the airline's side. If you know you will miss a flight, contact us before departure so we can check what the fare rules allow.
There is a mistake in a passenger's name. Can it be corrected?
Usually, yes, for a genuine correction such as a typo or a missing middle name. Tickets cannot be transferred to a different person. contact us right away with the correct spelling and a copy of the passenger's passport or ID; we send the request to the airline and normally have an answer within 24 to 48 hours.
The airline may charge a correction fee, and where your trip involves more than one airline the correction may require a new booking with a fare difference. We confirm the cost with you before anything is charged. If you booked within the last 24 hours, voiding and rebooking can be the cheaper route, and we will tell you if so. If departure is within 48 hours, contact the airline directly.
Should I dispute the charge with my bank instead of cancelling?
No. If your ticket is refundable, contact us and let us process the cancellation and refund first; a dispute filed while the refund is in progress delays it and can lead the airline to cancel the ticket outright. We answer every refund request, and your booking page shows the fare rules that apply.
Payments
Which payment methods do you accept?
More than 100 across the platform: credit and debit cards, digital wallets, 40+ pay-later providers including Klarna, Afterpay, Affirm, Zip, Atome, Grab PayLater, Tabby and Tamara, and 70+ cryptocurrencies. The methods available to you depend on your country, currency and booking, and are shown at checkout. See all ways to pay.
Why can't I see pay-later options at checkout?
Pay-later providers only work in the currencies they support. If your booking is in a currency your provider does not accept, the option will not appear. Switch the booking currency (the selector at the bottom of the page) to one your provider supports, USD for most, refresh, and the option should show. Your bank may apply a conversion fee on a foreign-currency payment.
Is it safe to pay on Laters.com?
Yes. Payments are processed by regulated payment partners over encrypted connections, and Laters.com is a Singapore Tourism Board licensed travel agent (licence TA04059). Your ticket is a real airline ticket, issued by the airline, the same as booking with the airline directly.
Are there any extra charges for taxes or fees?
No. The price shown includes all pre-payable airport and government taxes, service charges and booking fees, and you see the breakdown before you pay. The only charge Laters.com adds later is the cancellation processing fee, and only if you choose to cancel. If you pay with a pay-later plan, any interest or fees are set by the provider and shown to you before you confirm.
My payment failed or was declined. What should I do?
Check the card details and that your bank has not blocked the payment, then try again or use a different method; a second card, a wallet or a pay-later plan often goes through where the first did not. If the price has changed by the time you retry, that is the airline's live fare, not a Laters.com charge. If nothing works, contact us and we will look at what happened.
How do I know my payment was successful?
You receive a confirmation email with your booking reference and ticket details. If it has not arrived within an hour, check your spam folder, then contact us with the name and email you booked with, and we will confirm whether the payment and booking went through before you try again.
Can I change my payment method after booking?
No. Once a booking is confirmed the payment method cannot be switched. The alternative is to cancel and rebook, which is subject to your fare rules and the cancellation processing fee, so it is rarely worth it for the payment method alone.
I paid with a pay-later plan and cancelled. What happens to my repayments?
Keep paying your instalments as scheduled. When the airline returns the funds and we issue the refund, it goes back to your pay-later provider, which reduces or closes your plan and returns anything you have overpaid. Stopping repayments early can trigger late fees from the provider that we cannot reverse.
Baggage and seats
What is my checked baggage allowance?
It depends on the airline, the fare type, the cabin and the route. As a guide: economy fares often include one 20 to 23 kg bag, premium cabins two bags of up to 32 kg each, and low-cost airlines usually include no checked bag at all, with bags sold separately. Your exact allowance is in your confirmation email and on your booking page; the airline's website has the full rules.
What are the size and weight limits for carry-on bags?
Most airlines allow one main cabin bag of around 55 x 40 x 20 cm and 7 to 10 kg, plus one small personal item that fits under the seat. Limits vary by airline and by fare, and low-cost airlines are strict about them, so check the operating airline's rules before you pack.
What if my bag is overweight?
The airline charges an overweight fee at the airport, which is almost always more than buying extra allowance in advance. If you can, add baggage before you travel, or move items between bags to stay within the limit.
What can't I pack in checked baggage?
Hazardous items (flammable liquids, explosives, corrosives, loose lithium batteries), valuables such as cash, jewelry and electronics, which belong in your cabin bag, and perishable food. The operating airline publishes the full list, and the rules of your departure and arrival countries also apply.
How can I check what seats and bags are on my booking?
Open your booking page on Laters.com to see the seats and bags you bought. You can also enter your airline reference (PNR) on the airline's website, which shows everything the airline holds against the ticket.
I paid for a bag but it isn't showing on the airline's website.
Occasionally an extra takes time to sync from our supplier to the airline's record. contact us with your booking reference and a screenshot, and we will chase it with the supplier straight away. If it is still missing when you check in, pay for the bag at the airport, keep the receipt, and send it to us: the airline reimburses the charge once it has verified the duplicate.
What is Cancellation Protection?
Cancellation Protection is an optional extra from our partner Protect Group, added at checkout. If you have to cancel for one of the reasons it covers, such as illness, injury or certain travel disruptions, you can claim a refund from Protect Group even on a non-refundable fare. Claims go directly to Refund Protect, and their terms decide what is covered. The protection itself is non-refundable once bought.
What is delayed baggage protection?
An optional extra from Protect Group that tracks a delayed bag and pays you a fixed amount if it is not returned within their time limit. The cover, the amounts and the claims process are set out in the confirmation email you receive from Protect Group when you buy it; report a delayed bag to them within the window that email gives, as well as to the airline.
My bag is lost or delayed. What do I do?
Report it at the airline's baggage desk before you leave the airport and keep the reference number and the Property Irregularity Report (PIR); the airline is responsible for tracing and returning the bag and for any compensation. If you bought delayed baggage protection, also report it to Protect Group within their reporting window. We can help you find the airline's contact details if you need them.
Passengers and documents
What documents do I need for international travel?
A passport valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates, and any visa or entry permit your destination and transit countries require. Entry rules change, so check the official requirements for every country on your itinerary before you fly. Airlines can refuse boarding if your documents do not meet them.
My passport expires soon. Can I still travel?
Many countries require six months' validity from your travel date, and some will not issue a visa on a passport expiring sooner, so renew before you travel if you are close to the limit. A valid visa can usually be carried over to a new passport; your embassy or consulate can confirm how. If you are already abroad, contact your embassy.
Why didn't you ask for my passport details?
Because most airlines collect them at check-in, not at booking. If your airline needs them earlier, we ask for them during booking or tell you where to add them on the airline's website. Either way, the name you enter must match the passport or ID the passenger will travel on.
Check-in
How do I check in for my flight?
Check in with the operating airline, not with Laters.com. Most airlines open online check-in on their website or app 24 to 48 hours before departure: enter your airline reference (PNR) and last name, choose a seat if you have not already, and save your boarding pass. If online check-in is not available for your fare, go to the airline's counter at the airport with your travel documents.
Do I need to verify my booking with the airline before check-in?
A few airlines do. Ryanair asks passengers who booked through an agent to verify their booking once (free online, opens 48 hours before departure); without it, airport check-in is charged. Frontier is quickest through its app. If your airline needs a special step, we tell you in your confirmation email, and you can contact us if you get stuck.
What do I need at the airport?
Your passport or ID, your boarding pass or booking confirmation, and any visas or permits for your destination and transit countries. Arrive at least three hours before an international departure and two hours before a domestic one.
When does check-in close?
It varies by airline and airport. As a guide, check-in closes 45 to 60 minutes before domestic departures and 1 to 2 hours before international ones, and gates close earlier than that. Your airline's website has the exact deadlines for your flight.
Why check in online?
It saves the queue at the counter, lets you pick or confirm your seat, and often lets you pay for extra bags at a lower price than the airport rate. On some low-cost airlines, checking in at the airport costs extra.
Getting help
How do I contact Laters.com, and when are you available?
By live chat on the site or by email at support@laters.com, 17 hours a day, every day:
- United States: 9:00 pm to 2:00 pm the next day, Eastern (6:00 pm to 11:00 am Pacific)
- United Kingdom: 2:00 am to 7:00 pm
- Singapore: 9:00 am to 2:00 am
Daylight saving shifts these by an hour in spring and autumn. Write from the email address on your booking and include your Laters.com booking reference, and we can act straight away. Chats continue over email, and you receive the transcript when the chat closes.
Who can make changes to a booking?
Only the person who made and paid for the booking, writing from the email address on it. That protects your booking: nobody else can change, cancel or see its details. Other passengers on the booking, or anyone writing from a different email, can ask us general questions such as baggage allowance or flight times, but changes and refunds have to come from the booker.
