Fits a regional economy fare. Via Affirm Stripe or Afterpay. No interest; a quarter of the fare leaves at checkout. The provider sets late fees.

Book REX Airlines flights on Laters.com with buy now, pay later from Afterpay, AFTEE and more, with no hidden fees; borrow responsibly.
Yes. You can book REX Airlines on Laters.com, pick a pay-later plan inside the checkout, and get your e-ticket straight away. It works on every route REX Airlines flies and every fare class. The plan is chosen at checkout, so there is nothing to set up before you search.
Paying later is a payment method at the Laters.com checkout, not something REX Airlines has to switch on, so it works on every route we ticket. Search the route, choose a provider, pick a plan, and the e-ticket arrives once payment is approved. Which plans you see depends on the country you book from, not the airline you fly, and checkout shows only plans your fare qualifies for, so there is nothing to work out in advance.
An instalment plan leaves the fare, the baggage allowance, the seat and what your fare class earns in Rex Flyer unchanged. You fly as REX Airlines's own passenger on its own fare rules, and only the paying is spread. Interest-free plans run a soft eligibility check that does not affect a credit score. Interest-bearing monthly financing runs a full credit check. Approval is never guaranteed on either. You can pay in full by card or crypto at the same checkout.
Split the fare on REX Airlines flights at the Laters.com checkout with the pay-later providers for Oceania. Plans and approval depend on the provider and your booking; Laters.com charges no booking fees or payment surcharges.
This is a calculator, not a brochure. Set a REX Airlines fare and each plan shape below prices itself against it. Which shapes you see depends on the provider and market. The interest-bearing shape needs a full credit check, so read the terms before booking.

Fits a regional economy fare. Via Affirm Stripe or Afterpay. No interest; a quarter of the fare leaves at checkout. The provider sets late fees.
Suits a pricier fare that short plans will not cover. Through Affirm Stripe, Afterpay or Akulaku. Interest applies, with a full credit check. The provider sets late fees.
Suits a regional fare settled in one payment later. Through AFTEE. Nothing leaves the account at checkout. Check AFTEE's terms for interest, any credit check and late fees.
REX Airlines is paid in full at booking, the traveller repays the provider on the chosen plan, and the e-ticket is issued straight away. The same short instalment shape trades under different names by provider and market, so the plan offered may not carry the name used here.
Illustrative only. The figures above are computed from the fare you set: plain division for the interest-free plans, and each plan's own illustrative rate over its stated term for monthly financing. They are not an offer, a quote, or a prediction of what you will be given. Laters.com is not the lender and takes no part in the decision: which plans appear, the instalment amounts, any interest and fees, and whether you are eligible at all are determined by the provider alone, and depend on a credit or eligibility assessment, your country and your basket. The only way to see your real plans is to choose a provider at checkout, at which point that provider, not Laters.com, approves or declines the purchase. All plans, rates, fees and terms are estimates only and subject to approval and to change.
Booking direct at https://mbe.rex.com.au/ is a reasonable choice if you are paying by card in full. What the airline's own checkout does not give you is one search across every airline we sell, or a choice of pay-later plans at checkout. Paying later is credit, so read the terms first. It is the same REX Airlines ticket, issued on the airline's own fare rules, with the same baggage allowance, seat selection and Rex Flyer earning. Splitting the fare changes none of it.

Our editorial rating, out of 10, for what an airline is actually like to fly once you have booked it.
Every airline we ticket is scored on the same 4 measures, so you can compare them like for like before you book. See the full methodology See all airline scores →
Scored by the Laters.com editorial team from the airline’s own published specifications and named third-party measurements. No airline pays to be rated, no placement is sold, and this page contains no affiliate links.
REX Airlines scores 5.8 out of 10: the plain average of the measures below, rounded to one decimal. Each measure is an editorial assessment of the published facts.
4 measures, scored the same way for every airline we ticket.
Reliability & operations5/10
No on-time percentage is available, because no BITRE report was opened, and that holds this score down. The fleet is one type, the Saab 340, with no confirmed count. Connecting between Rex flights needs 40 minutes at minimum, but 1 hour 30 minutes to other airlines.
Comfort & experience5/10
Seat pitch and width are unpublished, which holds this score down, and the single Saab 340 cabin seats 36 at most. All fares include a snack, a hot or soft drink and a 7kg carry-on. Rextra Legroom seats are sold for extra room; Wi-Fi is unconfirmed.

Value & network6/10
A 15kg checked bag comes on Community, Promo and Saver fares, with 7kg carry-on, but excess baggage costs $5.50 per kg. Changing a Promo or Saver ticket costs $99 per ticket, the fact holding this score down. Rex Flyer has four tiers from Opal to Diamond, though point redemption is on hold.

Professional airline rating7/10
No star rating from a named body is confirmed, which holds this score at 7. The awards are strong: Roy Morgan Domestic/Regional Airline of the Year in 2024 and 2025, and Skytrax Best Regional Airline Australia & Pacific in 2023. APEX named its cabin service best in the South Pacific in 2024.
The published ratings and awards behind this score, each from the body that issued it.
Charges are set and collected by REX Airlines, not by Laters.com, and vary by route and fare type.
The full method, measure by measure, is on how we score airlines.
Compare the cabin, included baggage and onboard services before you choose a fare, then use the check-in, connection and assistance details to prepare for your trip.
REX Airlines flies a single Economy cabin on Saab 340 aircraft, so there is no business class to upgrade to. The only step up is a Rextra Legroom seat, which Rex sells separately. We have not confirmed its price, or the seat pitch and width. Check the seat price on the Rex booking page before you pay, and do not assume extra legroom is included in your fare.
Economy carry-on is 7kg, up to 105 cm total linear, and checked baggage is 15kg. Allowances vary by route and fare type, and the Flex fare carries more than 15kg. Excess baggage costs $5.50 per kg and oversize bags $16.50 per piece. Pre-buying extra costs $20 per 5kg, which is cheaper per kilo. Check your booking confirmation before you pack, and read https://www.rex.com.au/flightinfo/COC.aspx.
Allowances vary by route and by fare type. Confirm against your booking confirmation before you travel.
Online check-in opens 48 hours before departure and closes 60 minutes before. Airport counters close 30 minutes before at most airports, so the online window shuts earlier than the counter. Burketown is the exception, with counters closing 60 minutes before. Passengers with special requirements must check in at the airport. Check in online early, and follow the times on your boarding pass.
Gate-close timing varies by airport, so treat the airline rule as a guide and follow the times printed on your boarding pass.
Rex Flyer is free to join for residents of Australia or New Zealand, and runs from Opal at entry to Diamond at the top. Points expire after 36 months with no account activity. Redeeming points for flight rewards is on hold, though earning continues. Points on agent-issued tickets depend on the fare class booked, so confirm how your fare earns before you buy.
Miles accrual on agent-issued tickets depends on the fare class booked.
Every fare includes a snack and a hot or soft drink. Entertainment is the inflight magazine, Truly Aus. Wi-Fi and seat power are not confirmed, so charge your devices before you fly. Onboard purchases on Saab 340 flights are cash only, except in WA and SA where EFTPOS works. Carry cash if you want to buy anything. Alcohol is sold after 11am, and the Gulf route is alcohol-free.
Sydney Airport is the hub. Rex check-in and departures are at Terminal 3, and arrivals are at Terminal 2. The minimum connection between Rex flights is 40 minutes. Because you arrive and depart from different terminals, treat 40 minutes as a floor and leave more if you can. Connections to other airlines have longer minimums, so check them before you book separate tickets.
Pets travel in the hold only. Rex charges per kg, from $5.50 per kg including the pet carrier. Assistance dogs are the exception and travel in the cabin. Pet carriage is arranged directly with Rex and cannot be booked on Laters, so contact Rex before you buy your ticket and ask about your pet's carrier and weight. Read the airline's own terms at https://www.rex.com.au/flightinfo/COC.aspx.
Pet carriage is arranged directly with the airline and cannot be booked on Laters.
Notify Rex at least 48 hours before departure if you need assistance. Passengers with special requirements must check in at the airport rather than online. Unaccompanied minors cost $44 per minor per sector and also check in at the airport, with earlier cut-offs than adults. Tell Rex when you book, not at the counter, so the arrangements are in place before you travel.
The carriers most often compared with REX Airlines, on the facts we hold for both. Every one of them can be booked on Laters.com with the same payment plans.
Baggage, fees, miles, refunds and eligibility
Everything about booking REX Airlines flights on Laters.com and splitting the fare, plus the airline’s own rules that decide what you get.
Yes. Laters works on every airline, route and fare class at checkout, so Rex (IATA code ZL) flights on Community, Promo, Saver and Flex fares can be paid in instalments. The providers shown at checkout are Affirm Stripe, AFTEE, Afterpay and Akulaku, in that order. Paying later is credit, so borrow only what you can repay.
Nothing is confirmed on rex.com.au. Rex's travel-agent FAQ lists Visa, MasterCard, Diners, American Express, PayPal and UATP as accepted methods for AUD bookings. Rex is ticketless and does not hold bookings pending payment, so any instalment plan on Laters is an arrangement between you and the pay-later provider.
The Laters.com checkout shows Affirm Stripe, AFTEE, Afterpay and Akulaku, in that order. After approval, your e-ticket is delivered instantly. That suits Rex, which requires bookings to be paid at once and does not hold them while payment is pending.
Each provider sets its own eligibility rules, and approval is the provider's decision, not Rex's. The fare you choose does not limit this, because Laters works on every fare class, including Rex's Resident fare for Regional WA. Check the provider's terms before you apply.
The provider may assess you before approving a plan, and its terms say how. Your Rex e-ticket arrives only after approval, which fits Rex's rule that bookings are paid at once and not held. Read the provider's checks and terms before you accept.
The provider's terms decide, and they may include late fees or limits on future use, so read them before agreeing. Contact the provider early if you expect to fall behind. Rex's own rules stay separate: changing a Promo or Saver ticket costs $99 per ticket plus any fare difference, so do not count on rebooking to buy time.
Rex says it is returning its Saab 340 fleet to service step by step while it rebuilds capacity, so check your flight's status before travel. Rex's Conditions of Carriage at rex.com.au/flightinfo/COC.aspx set out what applies when Rex cancels. The $99 per ticket fee applies to changes and cancellation-to-credit on Promo, Saver and Resident bookings made on or after 15 September 2026. Ask your pay-later provider how a refund affects any remaining instalments.
Carry-on is 7kg on all fares on regional services, with total linear dimensions up to 105cm. Checked baggage is 15kg on Community, Promo and Saver fares and 23kg on Flex. Excess baggage costs $5.50 per kg, including GST.
Web check-in opens 48 hours before departure and closes 60 minutes before. Airport check-in closes 30 minutes before departure at capital-city airports and most regional airports. At Sydney Airport (SYD), Rex check-in is at Terminal 3 departures, counters 34 to 36, and passengers with special requirements must check in at the airport.
Flex gives a 23kg checked allowance against 15kg on Saver, and earns 7 Rex Flyer points per A$1 against 5 on Saver. Compare the total repayment and instalment size each provider shows at checkout, then pick the plan you can meet comfortably. Providers set the limits, and Laters has no hidden booking fees.
Each of Affirm Stripe, AFTEE, Afterpay and Akulaku sets its own country and eligibility rules, so confirm at checkout which one you can use. Rex sells AUD bookings through its travel-agent channel, and its Rex Flyer programme is open to residents of Australia or New Zealand. Where you live may limit which providers accept you.
That depends on the provider, and its terms say whether it runs credit checks or reports missed payments. Rex takes payment up front and holds no unpaid bookings, so any borrowing sits with the provider, not the airline. Read those terms before you accept a plan.
Inflight purchases on Saab 340 flights are cash only, except in WA and SA where EFTPOS is available. Pre-purchased additional baggage is $20 per 5kg, oversize baggage over 140cm is $16.50 per piece, and a pet in the hold is from $5.50 per kg. Fares include water, tea or coffee and a snack, so you do not need to plan for basic refreshments.
Laters has no hidden booking fees. Rex's own charges still apply as Rex sets them, such as $44 per minor per sector for unaccompanied minors or $33 for casual lounge access of up to 2 hours. Any provider fees are set out in the provider's terms.
Rex history · Rex airport maps and terminal information
REX Airlines (Regional Express, IATA ZL) is an Australian regional carrier formed in 2002 from the Hazelton and Kendell passenger businesses. Air T Inc has owned and governed it since December 2025. Roy Morgan named it Domestic/Regional Airline of the Year in its Customer Satisfaction Awards for 2024 and 2025.
Sydney Airport is the hub and no alliance membership is confirmed. Rex Flyer, its loyalty programme, is free to residents of Australia or New Zealand and runs from Opal at entry to Diamond at the top, which takes a set number of status points or flights. Flights are on Saab 340 turboprops in a single Economy cabin, with a complimentary snack and a hot or soft drink.
Paying later changes how you pay, not what you buy. The fare matches paying by card, the baggage allowance is the one the fare carries, and Rex Flyer earning follows the fare class. The ticket is issued on REX Airlines's own rules, so you fly as its passenger and simply spread the cost. Paying later is credit: a soft credit check may apply, some plans carry interest, and a missed instalment has consequences with the provider (such as a late fee). Borrow only what you can repay.
REX Airlines is a single-type operator. Every aircraft is a Saab 340 turboprop so there is no long-haul fleet. The flying is regional from Sydney and across all Australian states. Rex says it is returning its Saab 340 fleet to service step by step while it rebuilds capacity. These are the types in service when the facts were confirmed and deliveries and retirements change them. No fleet count is given because none is confirmed. BITRE publishes monthly and annual on-time reports for Rex but no figure from them was confirmed, so none appears here. Cancellation rate and fleet age are left out on purpose rather than estimated because no sourced field carries them.
